AVL DiTEST is a leading international specialist in vehicle diagnostics and measurement technology. Safety and sustainable learning are at the heart of the company’s philosophy – not only in development, but also in internal training.
AVL DiTEST deliberately decided against traditional frontal training for the annual mandatory instructions and instead developed a modern e-learning course on health & safety. The aim was not just to “tick a box” in the system, but to create real understanding and long-term awareness among employees.
With authentic video recordings of their own safety officers and interactive simulations, AVL DiTEST ensures that health & safety is brought to life .


Real people, real content
Authentic e-learning
Internal resources were specifically used for e-learning on health & safety at AVL DiTEST: The safety officers recorded their training content in person in the company’s own video studio and green room. We do not see video as a stand-alone e-learning course, but as a type of media within a didactically structured overall concept.
Only the combination of videos, interactive elements and simulations creates an exciting, lasting learning experience. The decision to use real contact persons from AVL DiTEST ensures authenticity, recognition and internal identification – and offers clear added value compared to generic AI content. The result: an e-learning course on health & safety that not only informs, but also inspires and triggers conversations.
Interactive decisions instead of passivity
Conversation simulation
The integrated conversation simulations are a real added value in e-learning on health & safety. Instead of just passively watching a video, learners are actively involved: The videos pause at key points and the participants themselves make decisions that influence the further course of events.
This form of interaction is particularly valuable in terms of e-didactics. Through active decision-making, direct feedback and experienced consequences, knowledge is not only absorbed, but also anchored more deeply in the memory. Learners remain attentive, take responsibility for their learning process and experience health & safety at first hand – this is exactly what makes sustainable learning possible.

- Why is the topic of health & safety particularly suitable for e-learning?
Health & safety is an area that affects all employees and whose content must be repeated regularly. At the same time, basic requirements and processes rarely change. The advantage of e-learning on occupational safety is that we can create a modern, interactive training program that is used annually without having to set up the entire process again each time. It also makes access much easier and more flexible for our colleagues.
- What do you see as the greatest strength of the digital solution?
For me, there are two points: Firstly, authenticity – by using a real colleague in the video, employees feel much more engaged than with anonymized or AI-generated content. Secondly, interactivity: participants are actively involved through conversation simulations and decisions within the training. They have to think along and thus shape their own learning path, which anchors the content more sustainably.
- How do you ensure that health & safety is not perceived as a "compulsory program", but as an important topic?
It was clear to us from the outset that health & safety had to be more than just a compulsory date to tick off. With the e-learning course on health & safety, we wanted to consciously encourage interest and personal responsibility. By combining real colleagues in the video, practical situations and interactive elements, we appeal to employees on an emotional level. They recognize the direct connection to their day-to-day work – and that’s exactly what makes the difference. If someone feels personally picked up, the message stays in their head much better.
- What did you particularly like about working with skillbest?
It was important to us that our technical content was implemented professionally, but also in an appealing and easy-to-understand way. skillbest made exactly that possible: our expertise in health & safety was perfectly complemented by skillbest’s didactic and design competence. The collaboration was uncomplicated, fast and at eye level – exactly what you want for a joint project.
